A Special Wedding Ceremony

Tuesday May 15, 2007

KIM Callaway, a qualified marriage celebrant, enjoys interacting with a wide range of people and cultures.

"What amazes me is the diverse range of ages and personalities getting married," Kim said. "Whether couples are getting married for the first time or second or third time, their wedding ceremony is still the most important day in their lives.

"I feel privileged that they have asked me to share in this special day."

'Ceremonies by Kim' caters for all types of ceremonies whether short and simple, traditional or unique.

"Most couples today prefer shorter ceremonies but still like to include some tradition," Kim said.

When couples contact Kim to do their ceremony, she sends them a planning package that includes easy to follow information on the ceremony such as legal requirements, name changing, rituals, symbols, a selection of traditional vows and ceremonial verses and poems and readings.

Kim then arranges to meet the couple to discuss their personal preferences, including information sheets on how to write their own vows if they wish to do so.

A rehearsal is held at the actual venue so everything will go smoothly on the day.

As well as unlimited personal assistance, Kim's fee includes conducting the ceremony, lodging the legal documents and providing a memento of the occasion.

A PA system can also be supplied if required as well as a signing table and cloth for the ceremony.

Kim has been asked to marry couples in a variety of locations from backyard tents and lounge rooms to 40 acre farms, national parks and million-dollar houses with ocean views.

She loves being a celebrant. "I get to combine my love of writing and my delight in meeting new people. I try to ensure that each couple feels that their ceremony is special and uniquely theirs."

Other ceremonies such as name giving, commitment ceremonies and renewing of vows are also available.
