JAMIE Holt and Danielle Garvie recently joined the growing number of couples who are choosing to pack their bags and fly off to exotic locations to get married.

The pair, from Albion Park, were married in January at Port Vila resort in Vanuatu in January surrounded by friends and family.

"We got the idea about a year ago when we were holidaying in Vanuatu," Danielle said.

"We saw a couple getting married and both decided that was the place we wanted.

"First, we had to check and see if our parents would travel and if they said 'yes' then we would go ahead."

Not only did their parents agree but so did other family members and friends.

"We had 45 people prepared to travel which was way more than we dreamed would come," Danielle said.

Even two staff members from Danielle's Wollongong beauty salon, Danai Naumovski and Ashley Suman, made the trip.

Danielle and Jamie met on a blind date.

"It all started with a casual drink at Western Suburbs Leagues Club and three years later we were tying the knot in a beautiful Pacific island wedding," Danielle said.
